Thank you Itqan!
My name is Irdina binti Ismaida Zamri. I am 12 years old. I am currently finishing Secondary 1 at SMK Damansara Jaya, a school just a few minutes away from Itqan. I was a former Itqan student from 2007 (Primary 3) to 2010 (Primary 6).
I truly had a wonderful experience in Itqan Integrated Islamic School. I enjoyed the curriculum because it was an Islamic one, with English, Arabic and BM as the medium of instruction. This was a new and exciting experience for me because I had previously been in an international school abroad. In addition, at upper primary levels, we were given the opportunity to learn in line with the KBSR curriculum and were helped to prepare to sit for UPSR at Primary 6.
Itqan is special because there are not too many students, if compared to government-run schools. Therefore, we students really got to know each other well and had more opportunity to communicate with our teachers. When I started school, I was as shy as a mouse! I did not have the guts to introduce myself and would occasionally cry out of uncertainty! But the teachers and the school environment made me comfortable and not long after that, I began to adjust to the school, my friends, the teachers and the academic aspect. I believe I became a well-rounded student from then on.
Alhamdulillah, I managed to fair quite well throughout my years in Itqan, although I was always the youngest in class and at times it was a pretty rough journey. My parents, teachers and friends always supported and encouraged me and to my surprise, I ended primary 6 on a very sweet note, being awarded the Best (Muslimah) Student for 2010! The school awarded me with a free 1 night’s stay and free passes to enter the Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI), Terengganu.
My family and I finally took the opportunity to visit TTI in June 2011. We spent a total of 3 days and 2 nights in and around Terengganu and Pahang. TTI was such an interesting place! There were various replicas of Islamic monuments and masjids from around the world, including Masjid al-Aqsa and Masjid an-Nabawi, some of which we could enter and watch a video on its history. There were also a lot of other activities such as a river cruise, amusement areas and lots of photo opportunities. It was truly a wonderful and an eye-opening experience!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my teachers, who taught, guided and nurtured me and my friends. Their dedication is Allah’s gift to us students. To the respected Board and staff, thank you for the wonderful award and to all present and former students, “Keep on Learning”, cherish and make the best of your time as a student of Itqan and MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU always!
